Obituary for Ben Leslie Green Fort Worth- Ben Leslie Green, 75, peacefully passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 with his wife and daughters by his side. Ben was born on May 25, 1943 in Durant, Oklahoma to Violet and Troy Green. He grew up in Portland Oregon and moved to Dallas/Fort Worth in his late teens as a dance instructor at the Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray Dance Studios where he and his students won a number of dance competitions.

Ben was very curious, creative, imaginative and inventive throughout his entire life which was evident in his hobbies and in his career. He started in the late 1960’s at Collins Radio followed by his long career at JC Penney where he began as a Window Dresser, moved from there to Visual Merchandiser then into management. He held many management roles within the Dallas District stores advancing to the JC Penney Corporate office in the late 1980’s.

He ran the Signing program for 1100 stores and due to his interest in computers & technology he eventually went into Information Technology where he managed the JC Penney Marketing IT team and retired from there after 35 years of loyal service. His hobbies included music, dancing photography, astronomy, palynology, outdoor life, everything science & space, playing chess and building lots of gadgets. Ben was preceded in death by his father, Troy Green, his brother-in-law Mark Bryant and his sister-in-law Marilou Labovitz.

Survivors: He leaves behind his wife, Becky Green; daughters Sheila Stanton and husband, Jimmy and Tami Fincher her husband, Steve; mother Violet Sandefer and husband, Wallace; brother Zack Green and wife Ginny; grandsons Justin Archer and wife, Laura, Andrew Stanton and wife, Jessica and Nick Stanton; nephews Curtis Green and wife, Desirea and James Green; niece Rebecca Cheng and husband, Johnny; along with many other cherished family members and friends.
