Obituary for Shirley Ruth Compton Shirley Ruth Compton, 91, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Funeral: 11:30 am in Mount Olivet Chapel. Visitation: 10:30 am Wednesday, prior to the service.

Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Shirley was born on July 5, 1927 in Hamlin, Texas to Worth C. and Edna Berniece Moore. She married the love of her life, Byron C. Compton in December of 1947.

She raised five children and continued that legacy of love by being present for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Byron C. Compton; her parents, and her sister, Wilma Louise Howard. Survivors: daughters, Susan Compton Martin, Debbie Blevins and husband, Randy, Melissa Muenzberg and husband, Larry; sons, Wayne Compton and wife, Diane, Larry Compton and wife, Suzy; grandchildren, Blake Blevins and wife, Lisa, Lindsay Blevins Back and husband, Jason, Hailey Compton Hess and husband, Nathan, B.J. Compton, Courtney Blevins, Kyle Muenzberg and wife, Bianca, and Cody Muenzberg; great grandchildren, Taylor Blevins, Sarah Back, Jacob Back, Harper Hess, Hope Hess and Brady Muenzberg; and brother, Worth C. Moore and wife, Elouise.
