Berda Elliott Lawrence, 87, of Danville, Va. , passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, following a short, but courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 16, 1931, in Pittsylvania County at Dry Fork, Va.

, daughter of the late Hettie E. Elliott and Ernest C. Elliott. Ms. Lawrence graduated from Whitmell Farm Life School in 1948. She was employed by Dan River Mills, retiring in 1996 with 45 years of service.

She was the last member of her immediate family. Ms. Lawrence is survived by one daughter, Pamela Lawrence of the home; special nephew, Stan Owen and wife, Linnie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Katherine E. Adkins and Alsee E. Owen and brothers, Hines Elliott, Fitzhugh Elliott, Ed Elliott, Muncie Elliott and Robert Elliott. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Tote and Rev.

Timothy Barth officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept.
