William Hertford Hyman Jr., 80, of Dry Fork, Va. , died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Guggenheimer’s Health & Rehabilitation in Lynchburg, Va. Born March 9, 1938, in Tarboro, N.C., he was the husband of Thelma Jeanette Hyman who predeceased him in 2005.

Hertford grew up in Kennedy Memorial Orphanage and was also raised by his Aunt Doris Walker. He proudly served in the US Army, and later worked at Dan River Mills and Goodyear. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with the Rev. Charles Wickham officiating.
