John Wesley Holmes, 90, of Harrisonburg Va, formerly of Martinsville Va, passed away Tuesday Oct. 2nd, 2018. He was born Dec.

29th, 1927 in Detroit MI, to the late John William Holmes and Blanche Nola Hendricks Holmes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first love and wife, Rosalie Miller Holmes and his second love and wife Evelyn Stone Holmes; as well as a grandson, Michael Roknich. More than that John was a sweet gentle soul who spent his life taking care of the ones he loved. He was the best father and husband the world could offer. He is survived by his daughters, Valerie Sue Holmes of Harrisonburg Va and Cynthia Bryant of Harrisonburg Va; son, Rob Holmes and wife Reagan, of Harrisonburg Va; and grandchildren, Greyson Holmes, Zach Holmes, and John Robert Holmes.

A funeral service will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Roselawn Abbey with Rev. John Fulcher officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel.

Entombment will be at Roselawn Abbey. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. and Crematory of Martinsville, VA is serving the Holmes family.
