Dallas Covington Snead, age 78 passed away, Friday, October 5, 2018 after a 5-month battle with cancer. He was born August 12, 1940 in Danville, VA to the late Thomas Covington Snead and the late Laura Ann Elizabeth Clark Snead. He was married to his beloved wife the late Hilda Earline Harris Reynolds Snead.

“Sonnyboy” as he was affectionally known in his early years. He was retired from Kroger after many years. He loved playing golf and camping.

Dallas is survived by his nephew, Danny Doak (Kathy Buchanon) of Belews Creek, NC; three nieces, Margie Roberson (Clarence) of Greensboro, NC, Connie Tate of Clarksville, TN and Patti Doak Rhodes (Jerry) of Kernersville, NC; Many great nieces and nephews; his step-children whom he loved as his own, step-son, Jerry Reynolds (Vickie) of Burlington, NC, and step-daughter, Tammy Reynolds Myers (George) of Blanch, NC, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his sister, Eunice Snead Doak and a niece Becky Doak Harrelson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9,2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., Mt.

Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Tpke. , Danville, VA 24540 with the Rev. JB Baldridge officiating.

Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. till 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Norris funeral Services, Inc., Mt. Hermon Chapel prior to the service and other times at the residence 532 Parker Road, Danville, VA 24540.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Danville Cancer Association, 223 Riverview Dr., Suite J, Danville, VA 24541. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory, Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Tpke.
