Ruby Cundiff Shelton Stoots, 81, of Dry Fork, Va. , went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 8, 2018, at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro, N.C. She was born February 14, 1937, in Franklin County, Va.

to the late Martha Eames Cundiff and the late Henry Cundiff. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Harrison Stoots. Mrs. Stoots was a master gardener, who loved butterflies and loved to read.

She was also a great photographer, winning numerous awards. … Read More » Mrs. Stoots will be remembered as a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Stoots is survived by her son, Ernie Shelton (Rosemarie) of San Antonio, Texas; her stepson, Michael W. Stoots of Danville, Va. ; her stepdaughters, Rachel S. Simpson of Stanleytown, Va. and Angela S. McGregor (Wallace) of South Boston, Va.

; her sisters, Mildred Arrington, Elizabeth Spivey, Audrey Kuykendall and June Lee; her grandchildren, Cole Simpson, Justine Shelton, Maria Shelton (fiancé Antonio Grier); and several nieces and nephews, as well as two dear friends, Alan and Alice Wells. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stoots was predeceased by her brother, Gary Cundiff and her stepson, Manuel Shelton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Norris Mt.

Hermon Chapel with Rev. Gerald Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
