David Howard Lutz, 59, of Blairs, Va. , went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He was born on August 22, 1959, in Richmond, Va.

, to the late Roberta Amos Lutz and Roger Albertus Lutz. David is survived by his wife of 31 years, Christie Sauerbeck Lutz; three daughters, Jamie White (Michael) of Navarre, Florida, Joni Glass (David) and Jessica Pelletier (Dann) of Blairs; three grandchildren, Aidan White, Camryn and Madicyn Glass and lifelong… Read More » friend and brother by choice, David “Crazy” Williams. Other survivors include three aunts and a number of nieces and nephews.

David served in the Army National Guard from 1978 to 1984 and attended Danville Community College. After retiring from the Danville Police Department as Canine Officer, he worked several years as a Magistrate in Danville and Pittsylvania County. Mr. Lutz was an avid Rush Limbaugh listener and NASCAR fan.

He loved hunting, fishing, flying, gardening, spinning around on his Kubota and driving his grandchildren on his four-wheeler. The most important people in his life were his wife, daughters and grandchildren, who were his life. Mr. Lutz was a member of White Oak Worship Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at White Oak Worship Center, Blairs, Va. , with Pastor Roger Ewing officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. before the service, and at other times at the home of his daughter, Joni Glass – 529 Deerwood Drive, Blairs.
