Betsy Ellen (Ronan) DeLaBruere, age 70, of Bradley Road, St. Johnsbury, VT and Bradford BLVD, Frostproof, FL died peacefully in Lyndonville, VT, on Sunday, October 14, 2018, surrounded by her family. Betsy was born and raised in Lyndon, VT, on December 14, 1947 the daughter of Robert and Ernistine (Freehart) Ronan, Sr She went to the one room schoolhouse in Mt.

Hunger and later graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1965. She was a bookkeeper for many years for Double D Landscapers. On June 30, 1978, she married Robert DeLaBruere Sr. and has shared 40 years together.

Betsy enjoyed reading, working at the family business, horseback riding and going for long walks. She loved babysitting her many grandchildren, apple picking and making her famous applesauce with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Bob and volunteering there at church with the youth.

Betsy was dearly loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Robert H. DelaBruere, Sr., of St. Johnsbury, VT & Frostproof, FL; her sons: Stephen Smith, Sr. and wife, Kerrie, of Concord, NC; Matthew Smith and wife, Donna, of Lyndonville, VT, Isaiah DeLaBruere and fiancé, Billie, of Island Pond, VT: her stepson; Robert DeLaBruere, Jr. of Island Pond; her daughters: Christine O’Rourke and husband, Steven, of St. Johnsbury, VT, Rhiannon Espiosito and husband, Yong Hui Huang, of Danville, VT: her step daughters; Lisa DeLaBruere of Inverness, FL, Roberta Jordan of Lyndon, VT and Andrea DeLaBruere of Es, VT; her brothers, Robert Ronan, Jr. and companion Don of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jeffrey Ronan, Sr. and wife Linda of Concord, NC: her brother & sister-in-laws; Armand DeLaBruere and wife, Dawn, of PA, Claude DeLaBruere and wife, Joanne, of Newport, VT, Richard DeLaBruere and wife, Lizette, of NY, Pauline Sage and husband, Gene, of MA, Diane Peck and partner, Fred Jackson, of Island Pond, VT, Claire Fontaine and husband, Raymond, of Island Pond, VT, Yvonne Ovitt and husband, Elton, of FL, Yvette Hadlock and husband, Gary, of Island Pond, VT, Roland DeLaBruere and wife, Tammy, of FL, Leonard DeLaBruere and wife, Linda, of NY and Katherine Maxwell and husband, Brian, of Island Pond, VT: 33 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Betsy was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Marjorie Amies; her grandson, Anthony Esposito and her in-laws, Roland Sr. and Cecile (Ruell) DeLaBruere.

Friends may call on the family from 5-7PM Thursday October 18, 2018, at the Guibord Funeral Home on the corner of Main and Center Streets in Lyndonville. Funeral Services will be held at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church in Lyndonville, VT, at 11AM on Friday the 19th, with Elder Jim Sanders of the Wheelock Brethren officiating. A luncheon at the church will immediately follow the service.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betsy’s memory can be made to Wheelock Brethren Church Assembly 444 Cherry Lane, Lyndonville, VT 05851 Condolences may be shared with the family at www. guibordfh.com .
