Stephan Joseph Wantuch, age 61, formerly of Grantham, NH, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep at his home in Newbury, VT, on September 29, 2018. Stephan was born on April 23, 1957, in New Britain, CT, son to the late Stefen and Anna (Rembowski) Wantuch. He was raised and educated there graduating from New Britain High School, and went on to receive his Bachelors in Accounting at the University of Connecticut.

Stephan worked for himself in specialty contracting for many years in the Upper Valley where he raised his family. He always liked having his own space and Grantham fit in perfectly. His work motto was “Anything from screwing in a lightbulb to putting on an addition”.

He often recruited his two sons to assist whenever they were available, especially summers, teaching them construction techniques and a work ethic. Stephan enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing golf, and kayaking on the Connecticut River with friends and sons, Michael and David. Stephan is survived by his two sons: Michael B. Wantuch of Sandy Springs, GA, and David S. Wantuch of Stamford, CT; and their mother: Ann (Graves) Wantuch of Sandy Springs, GA; his companion: Marlene Maxfield of Newbury, VT; a very close cousin: Debra Boyle; and numerous other cousins and loving family.
