Betty Jean Craig, age 89, passed away February 23, 2019 in McHenry, Illinois. A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

A general memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent for Betty’s family through the web at www. jonesfh.com Betty was born August 28, 1929 in Des Moines, IA.

She was the daughter of Harold and Cora Fisher, formerly of Washington, IA. She loved antiquing and in her retirement, worked at several antique stores in Wisconsin. She was always looking for that treasure someone else decided was junk.

She and her husband, Kert Craig, had a number of cats, but their favorites were sisters named Sam and Sammy. These cats never lacked anything, whether it was love and attention or good food and lots of toys. They couldn’t have gone to a better home.

Betty was always eager to help others and encouraged everyone to be the best they could. Although she has passed on, she will never be forgotten by those who had the opportunity to know her. She is survived by her daughters: Linda (Wickert) Orphal and Janice (Wickert) Graves; grandchildren: Christopher Orphal, and Nicci, Jessica, Jammie, Willie and Merit Wellington; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kermit Craig; and brother, Gerald Fisher. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Betty Craig please visit our Sympathy Store.
