Betty D. Ward, 94, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Heritage Healthcare. Betty was born on May 24, 1924, in Springfield, the daughter of Roland and Lele (Dale) Brownfield. She worked for Fiat-Allis retiring in 1981 after 30 years.

She was a member of the Rochester United Methodist Church and volunteered at Kumler United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Jernigan; son, James; sisters, Agnes Thoman, Wilma Hayword, Mardella King and Zelia Bales; brothers, Davy Lee and Thomas Brownfield Jr She is survived by son, Thomas (Linda); nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rochester United Methodist Church.
