Betty Marie Bankard, 79, of Westminster MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House. Betty was born on July 19, 1939 in Carroll County and grew up in Pleasant Valley. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Helen Brown Myers, Sr

She is the loving wife of Ray Bankard whom she married February 4, 1959. Betty graduated from Westminster High School in 1959. She was a longtime member of St. Matthews United Church of Christ.

Surviving in addition to her husband are children Donna Eckard and her husband Stephen of Westminster, Dianne Russell and her husband Kyle of Manchester, and David Bankard and his wife Amy of Westminster; grandchildren Mark Eckard, Ryan Hann, and Jackson and Lily Bankard; brothers Bobby and Lewis Myers, Jr.; sister Beverly Royer; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Dolores Raver.

The family will welcome friends on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, MD. Funeral services will be Monday, December 17th at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to either Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave. , Westminster MD 21157 or the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Maryland Chapter, 1850 York Rd. , Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093 www.
