Betty M. Brown-Shaffer, 99, Johnstown, died September 10, 2018. Born August 26, 1919 in Johnstown, daughter of the late John H. and Mary Esther (DuRoth) Mason. Also preceded in death by first husband, Charles Brown and second husband, Harry Shaffer.

Betty was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Masters Degree in Education. She taught at Reade Twp, Richland Twp. , and the last 27 years at Westmont Hilltop School District.

Betty was a member of the University of Pittsburgh Alumni, UPJ Asphalt Campus Club, Ladies Auxiliary, Knights Templar, PA Retired Teachers Assn. , Johnstown Retired Teachers Assn. , and the former First Christian Church.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 10 AM to the time of service at 11 AM at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
