Evelyn (Bobbie) R. Thomas, 99, went to Heaven, September 7, 2018 at Conemaugh Palliative Care. She was born August 21, 1919 in Johnstown, PA, daughter of James and Henrietta (Shaffer) Roberts. Preceded in death by parents and first husband, John Zimmerman, second husband, Victor Thomas and sister and brother-in-law, Harold and Dottie Gilbert.

Survived by nieces, Patricia (Dave) Bergman, and Pamela (Skip) Rowland, and nephew, Kip Gilbert, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Bobbie was a graduate of Johnstown High School, and lived in Mt.

Vernon, NY for many years before relocating to Westmont where she was involved in many community activities, including attending Hilltop Baptist Church. Bobbie was an independent and hardworking person and enjoyed being with family and friends. Her family would like to thank the loving care given to her by her friends at Laurelwood Apartments.

Friends will be welcomed from 10-11am on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Picking Treece Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Boulevard. Celebration of her home going will be held at 11am followed by interment at Grandview Cemetery. Pastor Robert Parker and Great-Nephew, Pastor Kirk Rowland officiating.
