Obituary for Betty Stump Rogers Betty Stump Rogers 80 of Haines City, FL went to her eternal life Friday, May 25, 2018 with family by her side. She was born in Grundy, Virginia on September 14, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Vena Stump (Crisp).

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Luther B. Rogers. Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters; Sheryl Webb (Charlie), Laura Meade (Brian) with whom Betty lived with in recent years and Emily Kubek (Paul). She had nine grandchildren; Ashley Blind (Fred), Marca Hobbs, Jaclyn Hobbs, Kristen Meade, Cory Meade, Amber Belliveau (Joshua), Jenna Chafin, Joey Kubek and Jacob Kubek.

Three great grandchildren; Ava Grace Blind, Kennedy Paige Blind and Jameson Taylor Belliveau. Sister; Janet Moore and brother James Stump. Also a host of extended family members and special care giver Cathy Post.

Betty graduated from Florida Southern in 1963 with a Elementary Education Degree. She taught Elementary School in Polk County for 20 years. She also taught in VA and WV before she retired to enjoy more time with family, traveling, writing and learning to play golf.

Betty had a incredible love for children. Getting to know her students was an attribute that won her Teacher of the year in 1987. She was devoted to her family and was always there when needed.

She said life had been good by giving her grandchildren and seeing them as they grew up to become adults. A faithful Christian, Betty loved the Lord where she previously served by playing the piano and teaching Bible School at Highland City Methodist Church. She previously attended worship service at the First Presbyterian Church Haines City and Savannah Court.

Services will be held at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City on Wednesday, May 30th with visitation at 10:00 and services at 11:00. Burial will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Winter Haven, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association in her name at alz.org.
