Obituary for Roger G Serzen Roger Girard Serzen, 92, of Winter Haven, FL passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Life Care Center in Winter Haven. Born October 3, 1925 in Chicago, IL to John and Katherine Zwiefka Serzen. He moved to Winter Haven 51 years ago.

Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII. He was a produce broker and owned The House of Roger in Winter Haven for 38 years. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven, he was also a member of, American Legion Post #8.

The American Growers Assn. and the American Produce Assn. .

Known to be an outstanding athlete all of his life, Roger was a past National Handball Champion; a champion boxer while in the Navy aboard ship; a cyclist who rode his motorcycle across the nation coast to coast; was an outstanding Golfer with a 2 handicap and had once played golf with and beat President Dwight Eisenhower at Augusta National. He is survived by: his wife of 16 years, Diane Serzen; two daughters, Karen Presnell and her husband Chad of Delray Beach, FL and Kelley Caranante and her husband Keith of Tampa, FL; and four grandchildren, Ella, Chase, Kate and Emma. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm till 7:00pm, Friday, May 11, 2018 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Chapel. Cremation will follow and final inurnment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in his name to Catholic Charities of Winter Haven.
