Betty Waveline McCormick, age 84, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on October 25, 1934, in Ohio to the late Jesse and Nora (Taylor) Dowler. Betty was a homemaker all of her life and dedicated herself to caring for her family and her home.

She enjoyed crocheting, putting together puzzles and working word search puzzles. She also enjoyed attending her great grandchildren’s sporting events, shopping, working in her vegetable garden, and cooking. She also loved to watch the birds and squirrels in her yard.

Betty is survived by 4 sons, Roy McCormick, Mark (Connie) McCormick, Scott McCormick, and Fred McCormick, 5 daughters, Terry (Mike) Schinlaub, Pam (Russ) Smith, Millie (Ned) Carmichael, Alice, and, Kathy, 19 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brother, Jack Dowler, sister, Vera (Terry) Morris, and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Nora Dowler and a brother, Emerson Dowler. Funeral service will be at1:00 pm on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Scott Blaylock officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the funeral service at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson St., Elwood, IN 46036. Online condolences can be given at www.
