Betty Sue Haas, 83, of Owensboro, died on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born March 28, 1935 in Butler County, KY to the late Charles Morphew and Beulah Wingfield Morphew. She retired from Bellsouth as a dispatch operator and was a member of Wing Avenue Baptist Church.

Betty enjoyed UK basketball and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William David Haas; and a sister Wilma Jean Hagan. Survivors include her son, Richard Haas (Darlene) of Utica; daughter, Melanie Stone (Richard ) of Owensboro; nine grandchildren, Keith Haas, Brandon Haas, Matthew Haas, Amanda Lee, Shannon Johnson, J.D. Haas, Darby Haas, Andrea Stone and Chelsey Stone; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Billy Morphew of Norfolk, VA.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
