Maybelle Koger, 89, of Owensboro, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born April 20, 1929 in Greenville, KY to the late Raymond Lear and Bessie Martin Lear. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, canning, talking on the phone, and gardening.

Maybelle’s kids and grandkids were her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ryan “Brooks” Koger; a brother, Billy Lear; and two sisters, Christine Havener Godby and Patsy Bivens. Maybelle is survived by her children, Mike Koger (Donna), David Koger (Sylvia), Dwight Koger, Donnie Koger, Linda Sallee (Ronnie); her beloved best friend, Jim Schell; eight grandchildren, Holly Alexander (Toby), Jason Koger (Jenny), Casey Owens (Lauren), Ryan Koger (Amanda), Stephen Koger, Karah Koger, Don Reco Bibbs, and Gavin Sallee; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice Richards; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the 2nd and 3rd floor nursing staff at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, also to Dr. Dedaj and Dr. Mathew for their excellent care. Services will be at 11:00a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 in the chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Cremation. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2:00p.m. until 6:00p. m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
