William Joseph Young, 90, of Owensboro passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at his residence. He was born September 12, 1928 to the late Jake Young and Minnie Frohlich Young. William was retired from Green River Steel.

He enjoyed going to casinos and horse races. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Reginald Lee Young, his sisters, Alberta Hall, Martine Wilson, Cathrine Booker, his brothers, Jim Young, and John Young. William is survived by wife of 65 years, Lillian Howard Young, his son, William Martin Young of Owensboro, his sister, Barbara (Gilbert) Conner.

Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, February 28, 2019 at St. Peter Alcantara Church, with Father Jegin Puthenpurackal officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Alcantara Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, and again from 8:30 am to 9:30 am Thursday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.
