Beverly J. Balmer April 25, 1928 – January 16, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Beverly Jean Balmer passed to her rest January 16, 2019, at her home in Walla Walla. Beverly was born April 25, 1928, in Ellensburg the only child of Marcus “Pete” M. Cahoon and Edna Verna (Loter) Cahoon. Beverly graduated from Zillah High School in 1946, where she was a cheerleader and played the clarinet in the school band.

Beverly went on to graduate from business college with a focus on bookkeeping. Beverly married Charles “Chuck” L. Balmer Jr., September 12, 1947, in Zillah, relocated to Walla Walla in January 1961, starting a wholesale electronic supply business together. Later purchasing “The Hub” until their retirement.

Beverly was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, also Past President of PEO Chapters DX and GO, Past Matron of Alki Chapter 25 Order of Eastern Star, lifetime member of the Walla Walla Country Club, volunteer at Fort Walla Walla Museum. Beverly and Chuck enjoyed traveling. Jamaica, Mexico and a cruise to Alaska were but a few highlights, but most loved was their winter vacations to Kauai, Hawaii.

Moms interests were varied as an avid reader, books were her passion. Mom never knew a stranger! Beverly is survived by daughter, Judith Carico (Jack Jr.); son, Gyle Balmer (Dee); six grandchildren: Angela Reyna, Carissa Bossini, Gino Bossini, Natalia Bossini-Smith, Erin Patrick and Marcus Balmer; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Cahoon (Jeannie).

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Chuck; and her parents. Services were held January 23, 2019, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, with private family interment held at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Aid Center, Fort Walla Walla Museum, Humane Society or Donors choice through Herring Groseclose Funeral Home.
