Obituary for Beverly R. Edwards Beverly R. Edwards, 82, of Murphysboro, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Beverly was born on April 1, 1936, a daughter to the late George T. and Roxie E. (Tindall) Layne. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Delaine Edwards on January 9, 1954, in Batesville, Mississippi.

Delaine preceded her in death on June 12, 2015. Beverly had been employed as a sales representative and secretary for the former Craine Furniture in Murphysboro for many years and was also a homemaker. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro.

Pastor Charles Allen of the Elm Street Baptist Church will officiate; burial will follow at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower, IL. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of services on Friday at Crawshaw Funeral Home. Memorials honoring Beverly may be made to Residential Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Craig Stewart of Murphysboro; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven Edwards and Kevin and Lisa Edwards all of Murphysboro; one sister, Sue Givens of Murphysboro; five grandchildren, Nicholas Edwards, Kyle (Chelsea) Edwards, Jessi Edwards, Jacob Stewart, and Maggie Stewart; four great-grandchildren, Madison Rose Edwards, Reagan Edwards, Ella Edwards, and Alayna Edwards; she is also survived be several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Layne, one step-brother, Jack Pittman, and two brothers-in-law, Terry Givens and Jack Knupp To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Beverly R.
