Obituary for Bill Lee Pickering Bill Lee Pickering, 85, of Johnson City, passed away peacefully Friday, September 28, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the son of Okie Lee Pickering and Annie Lee McInturff Pickering. Bill proudly served in the United States Army from 1953-1955.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Elaine Pickering and his sisters, Jane Pickering Watts McCloud and JoEllen Pickering Westerman. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Skeen and husband Tim and Janet Wyatt and husband Earl, his grandchildren, Katie Hicks and husband Andy and Cody Skeen, and three great-grandsons, Andy, Jackson, and Cash Hicks. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive as well as many friends and special neighbors.

The Pickering family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 5:30-7:00pm with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Jim Butch Stout officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Pallbearers will be Andy Hicks, Cody Skeen, Tim Skeen, Jerry Carmichael, Matt McGee, and Mikey Tabor.

Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Bill. 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
