Obituary for Billie Jean Christie Billie Jean Christie, 88 of Kerens, Texas passed away at home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born November 17, 1929 in Blooming Grove to Les Garvin and Pearl Fredrick Garvin. Billie was a strong Christian mother and loving example for all of her family.

She believed in God and in fairness and forgiveness. No one could out clean, out cook or out last her, and she never hesitated to tell you her opinion about anything. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Christie; son Zane Christie; grandson, Joe Symank and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Don and Beverly Richards, Larry and Gail Christie; grandchildren, Shanna and Bud Snapka, Hank and Julie Hollingsworth, Tony and Mystie Hollingsworth and Charles and Alyssa Dunnahoe; seventeen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and sister in law, Dorothy Garvin of Lancaster, Texas. Visitation will be Saturday, November 17th from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 17th at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Symank, Addison Symank, Brody Hollingsworth, Dalton Hollingsworth, Zane Wilchar, Jon-Marc Wilchar, Travis Wilchar and Matthew Hollingsworth. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hank Hollingsworth, Tony Hollingsworth, Bud Snapka, Charles Dunnahoe, Mike Richards and Layton Wing.
