Billie Jean Holman, age 88, passed away on February 11, 2019 after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Miami, Florida on May 2, 1930 to Jessie and Hettie Hawkins, and married Harold Holman on July 28, 1961. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2001.

Billie Jean’s top priority in life was her family, including her fur babies. She loved animals, was an avid reader, and enjoyed collecting things. She worked at Heyboer Transformers before retiring in 1992, after more than 30 years.

Survivors include three sons: Doug (Mary) Hawkins, Hal (Beth) Holman, and Bruce Holman; three granddaughters: Jill (Rob) Newton, Kristie (Nick Boers) Hawkins, and Halee Holman; two great-grandchildren: Morgan and Hensley Newton; and her two dogs, Dixie and Benji. Billie Jean was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Lund and Voncile Stanley Cremation and a private family service will take place.
