Billie’s Obituary Funeral services for Billie Laurent, 85, of Edgewood are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Edgewood with Pastor Jonathan Leach officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point. She passed away Thursday morning, February 14, 2019, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

Billie was born on June 18, 1933, in Dallas, the daughter of Samuel Earl Monday and Lillian North Monday. She was raised in Dallas, where she graduated from Forest Avenue High School. Billie was formerly employed by the V.A. Hospital in Dallas, retiring in 1994.

She lived in DeSoto prior to moving to Edgewood twenty years ago. She loved spending time with her family and friends and in her spare time, she enjoyed traveling. Billie was a faithful member and worker at the First Baptist Church in Edgewood, where she also served as secretary.

Billie’s greatest joy was spending time with, and loving on her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Lillian Monday; one brother and two sisters. Billie is survived by her son, Steve Smith & wife, Cathy, of Ft.

Worth; daughter, Emmie Baykian & husband, Phil, of Castle Rock, CO; son, Neal Laurent & wife, Laura, of Willow Park; two sisters, Marie Elmore, of Edgewood and Dorothy Gilmore, of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Chris Baykian, Scott Baykian, Kim Baykian, Sara Stoffel, Samantha Smith, Rachel Laurent, Alex Cherise and Emilie Cherise and one great-grandson, John Robert Stoffel. Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service.
