Billy Boyd Smith, Sr., 84, of Crowell Drive Concord, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Brian Center-Cabarrus in Concord. He was born, September 4, 1934 in Cabarrus County to the late Oscar Smith, Sr. and the late Annie Lee Roseboro Smith. Billy was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and was a graduate of Logan High School Class of 1953.

He was formerly employed as a Chemical Operator. Billy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Concord where he served as Chairmen of Board of Elders and member of the Men’s Club. Services will be held Wednesday, September 19, at Grace Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 PM with funeral services at 2:00PM. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.

Those left to cherish fond memories include his loving wife, Letha Pearson Smith of the home; two daughters, Paula Smith Reid (James) and Lineta “Deon” Smith Bottex (Wilner) both of Concord; adopted daughter, Brenda Bryant of Concord; one son, Billy Boyd Smith, Jr. of Concord; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will be meeting at the home of his daughter at 231 Kluttz Court, SW, Concord, NC.
