Tequita Shanay Knox, 39, of Oak Grove Street, Kannapolis, NC, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, at CHS-Northeast. She was born, April 27, 1979 in Cabarrus County to Barry Gaines and Elveta R. Knox. Tequita was educated in the Kannapolis City School System and was a graduate of A. L. Brown High School.

She was formerly employed by Amazon. Tequita was a member of Bethpage United Presbyterian Church in Concord where she served as Youth Advisor of C2C Ministry. Services will be held Tuesday, September 18, at Bethpage United Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00PM. Burial will at church cemetery. Those left to cherish fond memories include a son, Nazae Knox of the home; one daughter, Destiny Knox of the home; her mother, Elveta R. Knox of Kannapolis; her father, Barry Gaines of Kannapolis; one brother, Brandon Lipscomb; two sisters, Savanah Knox and Dominique Spratt both of Kannapolis; grandmothers, Naomi Knox and Grace McNeil both of Kannapolis; stepdad, Samuel Wiley of Kannapolis; godson, Cam Johnson; four aunts, Terry Clodfelter, Bernetta Berryman, Valerie Caldwell and Marisa Gaines; one uncle, Michael Knox and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
