Obituary for Ruth Junedith Frye Smith Mrs. Ruth Junedith Frye Smith, 89, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, at Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Sharon Baptist Church. Rev.

James Strickland will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith was born February 1, 1929 in Cabarrus County. She was the daughter of the late Nash Frye and Elizabeth Suther Frye. She worked at the former Bitsy Bakery as a baker and was also a homemaker.

She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Craig, Dewey and Linn Frye. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Rev.

Leon Smith; son, Jerry Smith of Kannapolis; daughter, Brenda Greene and husband Darrill of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, April Stoner, Rodney Smith and David Greene; and six great grandchildren.
