Blanche Seidel was born on January 3, 1926 to Louis Henry and Henrietta Kiel Landua. She was baptized February 28, 1926, confirmed March 17, 1940 and married to Fred W. Seidel on May 25, 1947 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was a faithful member of this church her entire life.

Blanche served her church in many ways, including Church Council, Stephen Ministry, Communion Ministry, Altar Guild, and Sunday School. She enjoyed many years in the company of her friends in the Wednesday Afternoon Circle. Blanche was employed for over 20 years at BISD as the food services coordinator.

Above all else, she enjoyed providing a loving home for her family and friends. Blanche grew up on a dairy farm with her four brothers and sister. Despite milking cows before and after school every day, she graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1943.

While in high school, she was honored to attend the American Legion Bluebonnet Girls State. She enjoyed traveling with Fred and most anything Aggie, especially basketball. For more than 25 years, they had season tickets to Aggie basketball games, however she rarely stayed to the final buzzer, saying it just made her “too nervous to watch”.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred, her parents, and parents in law, her brothers, Harvin, Oliver, and A.J. and their wives, her youngest brother Kiel, and her adored sister Mabel and husband Ray, and so many cherished friends. She is survived by her daughter Kay and husband Steve Carnahan, and son Wade and wife Susie Seidel. Grandchildren Sarah and Arty Brieden, and Sam and Laniey Seidel.

Great Grandchildren Elizabeth, Evelyn, and Ann Margaret Brieden, Greta, Barbara, and Susie Seidel. Her family will always be grateful for her many gifts. She was kind, giving, and so soft hearted.

She taught by example to be honorable, take responsibility, live with integrity, work hard and do everything with excellence. We will miss her warm, soft hugs and infectious laugh. She was known by many names, her siblings called her ”Sarge”.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her Grannie. We called her Mother.
