Dorothy’s Obituary Dorothy (Buddenberg) Lorenz, 94, of Brenham, widow of Herman E. Lorenz, died Feb. 18, 2019, in Bellville. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, Feb.

22 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral services for Dorothy Lorenz are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23 at 3:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, with Pastor Evan Cameron officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lorenz was born March 17, 1924 in Brenham, TX to Ernest and Henriette (Dannhaus) Buddenberg, their only child. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem and was educated at Pleasant Hill School.

On March 16, 1947, she married Herman E. Lorenz at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, where she was a faithful member until her death. She was a member of the Martha Circle, taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir for many years. Mrs. Lorenz enjoyed dancing, traveling, playing cards with family and neighbors and her friends at Salem, Welcome and New Wehdem churches.

She loved playing dominoes and cards with the Lorenz family. Working in her garden and planting many flowers were some of her favorite past times. Mrs. Lorenz loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Gatherings at the Lorenz Farm with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were some of her best times, and they were the joy of her life. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Larry Hillman of Brenham and Kathryn and Curtis Cannon of Caldwell; son and daughter-in-law, Herman David “Butch” and Cynthia Lorenz of Leander; grandchildren, Kim Wellmann, Teri and her husband Michael Condit, all of Dallas, Lori and her husband Chris Knop of Houston, Kristen and her husband Bradley Suehs of Caldwell, Cheryl and her husband John Moore of Smithville, David Lorenz and his wife Brandy Lorenz of Leander; great-grandchildren, Cody Wellmann, Jack Condit, Christian and Claire Knop, Cameron and Brycen Suehs, Jacob and Madaline Moore, Katelynn and Bradley Lorenz, along with Lorenz nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. Mrs. Lorenz was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Lorenz; parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hugo and Emma Lorenz; grandson, Ryan Alan Lorenz; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Edna and Albert Fritz, Eldon Lorenz, Clarence and Evelyn Lorenz, and Lillie Mae and Wilhelm Hegefeld; and nephews, Buddy Fritz and Leonard Hegefeld.

Pallbearers will be Michael Condit, Chris Knop, Roy Hegefeld, Wayne Hegefeld, David Lorenz, Sonny Dannhaus, Don Allan Dannhaus and Bradley Raska. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; friends, Angie Goeke and Jeri Hanath; the Ladies of Martha Circle; Lorenz nieces and nephews, Florine Fritz Raska, Bernice Lorenz Oddo, Joyce Lorenz Johnson, Shirley Lorenz Minor, Barbara Lorenz Cartwright, Diane Lorenz and Janet Hegefeld Dannhaus. Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem or a charity of your choice.
