Blenda Carol Johnson, 72, of Alexandria, formerly of Parkersburg, passed away March 3, 2019 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by love as she entered the gates of Heaven. She was born on October 10, 1946 in Rainelle, WV and moved to Parkersburg when she was six years old where she met her best friend of sixty-six years Connie McCutcheon.

Blenda was a lifelong member of Beechwood Presbyterian Church prior to moving to Alexandria, VA in 1990. Our heats are broken, but are forever grateful for her presence and her love in our lives. Blenda was the daughter of Ruth Laura Amick, loving wife of fifty years to John R. Johnson, She was a devoted mother and best friend to Laura Johnson Dearth.

Blenda was “Gramie” to Johnny Dearth, and sister to Sharon Ann Anderson as well as aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Wendell Amick, Eldon Edward Amick and Wilber Wayne Amick. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens . Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.
