Bob Bryant, 81, of Gray, passed away Thursday February 28, 2019 surrounded by his family at his home. Bob was born in Mitchell County North Carolina to the late Park and Atlas Bryant. Bobs family moved to Johnson City not long after he was born and he was on the 1958 Science Hill State Championship Basketball team.

Bob had a passion for golf, sports, and he loved the UT Vols. Bob loved the beach his dogs Coco, TJ and Brownie. Bob was a great father, grandfather and friend always putting a smile on everyone’s face and offering them a cold drink as soon they walked through his front door.

Bob was a Union Teamster at the Mason Dixon Trucking Company in Kingsport. Along with his parents Bob is preceded in death by his sisters Joyce Revis, Betty Bowswer, and brother Buddy Bryant. Those left to cherish Bobs memory include his loving wife of fifty six years Shirley Bryant, daughters Anita Cox and husband Steve, Bobbie Bacon and husband Tony, Karen Thompson and husband John, brother Jack Bryant and wife Teresa, grandchildren Tyler and Danielle Cox, Skylar and Jody Bacon, Chad Chasity, Christopher and Christa Greene, and ten great grandchildren.

The family will gather to greet friends Monday March 4, 2019 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services 3001 Peoples St. Johnson City Tennessee, 37604 at 12:00pm until a funeral service to honor Bob’s life beginning 2:00pm with Chaplain Steven Spell officiating. A graveside service will be conducted following the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park beginning at 3:00pm. Carter County Honor Guard will render Military Honors.

Pallbears will be Steve Cox, Tony Bacon, Tyler Cox, Chad Green, John Thompson, Christopher Green, and Justin Garret. The Bryant family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at Amedisys Hospice. Tetrick Funeral Services of Johnson City (423-610-7171) is honored to be serving the Bryant family.
