Robert “Bob” D. Schultz, 96 of Grand Island died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Southlake Village Rehab and Care Center in Lincoln. Celebration of life service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate.

Military honors will be rendered by the US Army and United Veterans Honor Guard. A light reception will follow. Burial of ashes will be prior to the service at 1 PM Tuesday in the Central City Cemetery.

Bob was born August 13, 1922 at Hornick, Iowa the son of John and Elsie (Stanton) Schultz. He was raised in Sioux City, Iowa where he graduated from Sioux City Central High School. Having been part of the “Great Generation” Bob served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII from 1943-1945.

He flew in a B-17 on seventeen missions in the European Theatre. On April 9, 1949 he was united in marriage to Donna Yenney. They made Grand Island their home.

Bob and Donna enjoyed 67 ½ years of marriage. During his career he worked for Nielson Peterson Company and Briggs Transportation. Bob and Donna were members of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Some of his enjoyments included Husker football, Chicago Cubs, loved their cats, bird watching, walking, playing poker with his card buddies and listening to all genres of music. Most of all he loved time spent with his family. Survivors include a son Robert “Rob” (Gail) Schultz of Lincoln; grandchildren, Kelli (Terry) Anderson of Lincoln and Jamie (Andrew) Lethcoe of Lincoln and great-grandchildren, Tate, Kaia and Eliot Anderson and Harper, Jude and Leif Lethcoe.

He is preceded in death by his son, David Schultz in 2008 and his wife, Donna in 2016. Memorials are suggested the family for future designations. Online condolences may be sent to www.
