Lola (Schwieger) Clark, 82 of rural Dannebrog, passed away early Wednesday Morning at CHI-Health St. Francis in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 19th at the Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. Reverend Brian Wright will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, March 18th, at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon at a later date. Lola was born on August 7, 1936, to parents Harry and Mildred (Thesenvitz) Schwieger in Alda, NE.

She attended rural grade school and then graduated from Alda High school in 1954. She started her working career at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Grand Island. She then went to Grand Island Optical, where she worked for many years.

Lola then went to Professional Services until her retirement in 1998. In 1979, Lola was united in marriage to Steve Clark, and the couple made their home in northern Hall Co, south of Dannebrog. They have lived on this same farm for 40 years.

Lola was an avid animal lover. She would feed and help any animal that came to her house or lived on the farm, domestic or wild. She especially loved her cats, dog, and horse.

None of these pets ever went hungry or unloved. She was a big supporter of several animal shelters. In addition to animals, Lola loved to garden and raise flowers.

Lola is survived by her husband of 40 years, Steve Clark; two sisters, Harriet Sorgenfrei, Marlene Schwieger; and sister-in-law, Janice Schwieger, all of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Schwieger; brother-in-law, Oscar Sorgenfrei; and niece, Robin Stromberg Memorials are suggested to the Christ Lutheran Church comfort dog (Moses) fund or the Cairo Quick Response Team.
