Norma Mae Scoggins, 81, of Grand Island died March 8, 2019, at Tiffany Square. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Mrs. Scoggins was born on November 30, 1937, in Grand Island to Donald N. and Anna A. (Hancock) Watson.

She was raised by her paternal grandparents, George and Effie Watson. She was united in marriage to Pat Scoggins on November 21, 1957. Before marrying Pat, she was a bookkeeper for Hesteds Department Store in Grand Island.

As a teenager, Mrs. Scoggins joined the First Congregational Church where she served as the children’s choir director, played piano, and taught Sunday School. For the last 42 years, Mrs. Scoggins had been a member of the First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, served as financial secretary, treasurer, librarian, and was a member of various circles. An avid reader, Mrs. Scoggins enjoyed studying theology and history, teaching Bible studies, and cooking; however, what she enjoyed most was being a mother and a grandmother.

She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1955. She received her Bachelor’s of Divinity degree and was an ordained minister. Those left to cherish her memory include husband, Pat Scoggins; her children, David (Kelsey) Scoggins, Gaylene (John) Brennan, Donald (Jay) Scoggins; step-mother, Eva Watson; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jordan) Myers, Joshua (Kelsey) Scoggins, Kelsie Scoggins, Miranda Scoggins; and great-grandchildren, Maggie, Miley, Rylan, Jhett, and Bohen; two sisters, Arlene Luther, Barb (Dave) Plautz, four brothers, Ed (Carol) Caudill, Rod (Sherri) Watson, Quiller (Erin) Caudill, and Randy (Jeanette) Watson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Watson, Anna & Ed Caudill, and a brother, Roger Watson. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Norma Mae Scoggins please visit our Sympathy Store.
