James Arnold “Jim” Schwaderer, 74, previously of Grand Island, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. Memorial service and celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 25th at Trinity United Methodist Church, 511 N. Elm Street, Grand Island. Please honor Jim by coming in your favorite Husker gear to the visitation and/or service.

Go Big Red! Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, at All Faiths Funeral Home, 2929 S. Locust St, Grand Island. Jim was born in Loup City, Nebraska on May 9,1945 to Charles and Margaret (Ritz) Schwaderer.

He owned several businesses including Westward Ho, Novak Shoes and The Tree House. Throughout his life Jim was a hardworking and warm-hearted man. He developed many friendships not only in his favorite stomping grounds of Nebraska and South Dakota, but wherever a friend could be made.

During his life he had a successful career with Cargill, NC+, Channel, and Crop Solutions Insurance where he achieved many of the highest awards for sales as well as the coveted “Channel Marker” award which summed up his career. Jim was an individual who valued high standards and integrity and who had an excellent reputation amongst his peers. His passions included HUSKER football, Cubs baseball, and more than anything, his FAMILY.

Every Husker home game Jim would host a tailgate enjoyed by hundreds of his friends, family, and customers, that soon became lifelong friends. He also loved watching Cubs baseball games with his son, Travis. Jim was so very proud of his children and grandchildren.

He is loved by his family and his community and is recognized as an innovator, leader and FRIEND to all. He is survived by his wife, Marcia; two children, Kerri Colclasure and Travis Schwaderer; son-in-Law, Bobby Colclasure; and his three grandchildren, Carter, Tenley, and Tali Colclasure. Jim was preceded in his death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Evelyn and Ernest Meininger; and sister, Dixie Best.
