Roy Hopkins, 58, of Grand Island, died Sunday May 12, 2019 at CHI-Health St. Francis. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 2pm at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. All Faiths Funeral is entrusted with arrangements Roy was born on August 21, 1960 in Grand Island to Delmer and Betty (Reimers) Hopkins. He is a graduate of Grand Island Senior High School’s class of 1978.

On December 5, 1981 Roy was united in marriage to Debbie White. After their marriage, the couple stayed in Grand Island, and Roy started his 37- year career with McCain Foods. He has held some part-time positions though out the years with the YMCA and Grand Island Public Schools as well.

In his spare time, Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and meeting friends at the bar. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandkids. He would often let people know that he was a jack of all trades, but master of none.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife; children, April Hopkins, Cassandra (Kenny) Galusha, Tabitha (Fernando) Mendoza, Roy (Jordan) Hopkins, Jr.; five grandchildren, Ameree, Annalie, Zayden, Olivia, Zuri; numerous grand-puppies, brother, Jim (Bobby) Hopkins; sisters, Kathy (Gary) Michel, Barb (Richard) Berggren; close friends Wayne Nichols and family; multiple nieces and nephews; and his McCain Foods family. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and some extended family. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
