George W. Harrison, 93 of Grand Island died Monday, May 6, 2019 at Riverside Lodge. Services will be 10:30 AM Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate.

Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and United Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be an hour prior to service time.

George was born June 17, 1925 at Kansas City, Missouri the son of George and Minnie (Lockert) Harrison. He graduated from High School in 1942 in Kansas City. He entered the U.S. Army on August 4, 1943.

Part of the last great generation, George served in the European Theatre during WWII. He was honorably discharged on January 8, 1946. On November 9, 1947 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Hypse.

They lived in Topeka, KS prior to moving to Omaha in 1956. George was co-founder of Copy Cat Printing in Omaha. After retiring in 1987 they moved to Grand Island in 1994.

Memberships include the Downtown Rotary in Omaha and St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. He enjoyed gardening and time spent with family. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Cheryl (Les) Bowden of Temecula, CA and son, David Harrison of Hastings; grandchildren, Heather Bowden, Scott Harrison, Kelli Weber, Krista Finley, Megan Wright and Lindsey Wiseman and great-grandchildren, Hadley and Brennan Weber, Jackson and Marcus Finley and Hunter and Finley Wright, and Mya, Kya, Brooklyn, and Cali Wiseman.

Preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis who died on July 7, 2018; his parents, and a brother, Wayne. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Aseracare Hospice. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of George W. Harrison please visit our Sympathy Store.
