Jeanne L. Blue, 67, of Grand Island, passed away May 16, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 21st at 10 am, at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grand Island City Cemetery. Mrs. Blue was born June 22, 1951 in St. Paul, to John L Jelinek and Betty Jelinek.

Survivors of immediate family include husband Kenneth J. Blue; sisters, Janet Smith, and Bette Plummer; brother, Jerry Jelinek; daughters, Misti Phillis, Candi Hoselton; grandchildren, Heather Dimmitt, Trisha Biberos, Kenneth Hoselton, Krystal Hitz; great grandchildren, Oden Biberos, Roger Biberos, Makenna Hitz, Tyler Hitz, Keira Hitz. On May 17, 1968, she married Kenneth J. Blue. They were united in marriage at Central City, NE.

Jeanne and her husband then moved to oceanside, CA to finish out her husband’s time in the service. In 1969, they moved back to Nebraska. Jeanne worked for Delicious Foods, Treasure City, Parkside Nursing Home, and Super 8 Motel.

In 1993, Jeanne and her husband moved to Pocatello, Idaho, due to the shop closing where Kenneth worked. Then, in 1997 they moved to Denver, CO. In 2006, after Kenneth’s retirement, they moved back to Grand Island.

Jeanne was a great cook, well known for her homemade Runza’s and Potato salad. Jeanne always had family over for the holidays. She liked to collect cabbage patch dolls, porcelain dolls, Elvis Presley, cups and saucers, and hummingbirds.

Jeanne loved doing crafts of all kinds, going to bingo, and playing slot machines. She enjoyed going to the park to feed the geese, ducks, and squirrels. Jeanne also loved her cats which were very interesting.

Christmas was her favorite time of year. She would make up fun boxes with lots of gifts in them. Her family meant the world to her.

She will be remembered as a very caring and giving person. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma. She loved her grandkids with all of her heart.
