T Jean Tj Luebs, January 16, 1951 — February 17, 2019

T. Jean (T. J.) Luebs, 68, formerly of Doniphan, passed away Sunday, February 17th in San Antonio, Texas. A graveside service will be held in Doniphan at a later date.

All Faiths Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. T. J. was a kind and loving woman that will be greatly missed by those of us left behind. Survivors include her husband, Mike Thompson of Georgetown; brother Edward Gowlovech and wife, Barb, of Grand Island; 2 step daughters, Allyson Cahill of Kearney and Jennifer Gnau and husband, Chris, of Loveland, Colorado; a granddaughter, Asia Cahill of Omaha; and many nieces and nephews.

T. J. was preceded in death by her husband, Jon Luebs, parents and two brothers; Richard Gowlovech, and Elgin Gowlovech. T. J. was born on January 16, 1951, in Grand Island, the daughter of Edward L. and Laura E. Gowlovech. On January 28th of 1951, She received the saving grace of Jesus Christ and was made a child of God through the waters of Holy Baptism at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island.

T. J. is a graduate of Grand Island Sr. High and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Over the years she was an active member of organizations including the Ambassadors Club at the Chamber of Commerce, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Doniphan, Central Nebraska Humane Society, Crisis Center Board, Nebraska Appaloosa Horse Club Treasurer, Women’s Golf at Berry Creek Country Club, and ROCK Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies in Georgetown, Texas. T. J. married her best friend Jon Luebs, on the beautiful fall morning of October 2nd, 1982.

In the spring of 1984, they moved to rural Doniphan and on October 30th, 1988, joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Doniphan LCMS. They later made their home in Georgetown, Texas. After the passing of her husband Jon, T.J. found love again with Mike Thompson and had a beautiful outdoor marriage ceremony on May 26th, 2018 in Georgetown, Texas.
