Arthur F. “Art” Osterman, 77, of Grand Island passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, March 8, 2019. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Dan Naranjo will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and Untied Veterans Honor Guard. Cremation will follow the service.

All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Art was born on October 22, 1941 in Clarks, NE, son of Robert and Goldie (Pierce) Osterman. Art graduated from Clarks High School where he was active in numerous sports.

He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. While employed at Skagway, he met the love of his life, Voncelle Lang they were soon married and made Grand Island their home. Art was employed by the Grand Island Police department, he made his career as a phone repairman for the Phone Company until his retirement in 2003.

Art found peace in the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and ride his Harley on the open road. It was a passion that he shared with his family, often making the memorial weekend trips with the Nebraska Muzzleloader Club a family event.

Art adored his family and brought his smile and sense of humor to light up the room where ever he went. His memory is cherished by his wife of 53 years, Voncelle of Grand Island; daughters, DeeDee (Bryan Ellington) Brockman and Jennifer Osterman of Grand Island; grandson, Josh Brockman of Illinois; brothers, Dennis (Connie) Osterman of Grand Island, Bob Osterman of Omaha; sister-in-law, Sharen Schuchman; brother-in-law, Lanny Lang of Holstein; nieces and nephews, Linda, Kathy, Bobby, Mike, Pete, Kandy and Robyn; along with numerous extended family and friends. Art was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law, Evelyn Lang.
