Obituary for Bobbie Jean Mays Rubottom – Graveside Services for Mrs. Bobbie Jean (Hartman) Mays, 83, of Healdton, is scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday Dec. 4, 2018 at Rubottom Cemetery with Rev. Dan Stewart officiating.

Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson. Mrs. Mays was born on May 25, 1935 at Leon, OK to the late Mr. Robert B. “Bob” Hartman and Mrs. Georgia Idora (Williams) Hartman. She departed this life Sunday morning Dec.

2, 2018 at the Lake Country Nursing Center of Marietta. Bobbie was raised in Love County residing at Leon. There she attended school where she met and later married Mr. Kenneth Ray Mays on Sept.

12, 1952 at Gainesville, TX. They made their home in Courtney for a short while before moving to Ardmore following Kenneth’s employment. In 1969, Kenneth was transferred to the Healdton OG&E office and they made residence at Healdton where they remained.

Bobbie visited Love County as often as she could. She loved fishing on the banks of the Red River with her sister Virginia. She also enjoyed playing pitch and other card games.

Kenneth preceded her in death on November 5, 2004. Also those who preceded her in death were her Parents; infant brother, Burlin Wesley Hartman; sister, Virginia Blakely; son, Ray Mays and a grandson, Billy Sullivan. Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Perkins and husband Perk of Healdton; son, Richard Mays and wife Kim of Foster; daughter in law, Kathi Mays of Lone Grove; 6 grandchildren, Jarrett Mays, Gretchen Peshoff, Brent Perkins, Mickey Mays and Matthew Mays; 13 grandchildren and 2 very special friends, Aden and KJ; numerous other relatives and friends.

Casket Bearers will be family and friends. Family visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson. Condolences may be shared online at www.
