Obituary for Bobby Martin Blalock Bobby Martin Blalock went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at age 87. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Johnnie Armstrong Blalock; brothers, Rodger Milton Blalock and Bricen Bernard Blalock; sisters, Dorothy Rauschenburg, Lottie Mitchell, Mildred Goodwin, and Mary Grace Mahaffey; and son-in-law, Van Hall. Bobby is survived by his daughter, Debra Hall; sons, Bricen (Jane) Blalock and Bruce (Brenda) Blalock; special friend, Ruth McCoy; six grandchildren, Meredith (Michael) Swann, Josh (Alana) Blalock, Carey (Jonathan) Motte, Justin (Ryan) Blalock, Stephanie (Josh) Self, and Kimberly (Joseph) Bates; eighteen great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Bobby retired from Pemco Aeroplex. He loved gardening, especially growing tomatoes and loved playing and singing bluegrass songs with his guitar. Visitation will be Monday, December 17, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Bobby Martin Blalock please visit our Sympathy Store.
