Obituary for Maggie Marlow Garrett Maggie Marlow Garrett, 86 went to be with her lord and savior on October 17, 2018, surrounded by her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bertha Marlow, loving husband of 55 years Carl, sisters Edith Marlow, Louise DeCarlo and Hazel Garrett. She is survived by daughters Shelia Garrett, Carla (Todd) Bates and Cathy (Ron) Nickel and son Jeff (Donna) Garrett, 6 grandchildren, Cory Freeman, Justin Freeman, Dylan Bates, Shane (Kristen) Garrett, Jaclyn (Kevin) Parker, and Lauren (Chip) Turner, 9 great grandchildren, nieces Winkie Colby and Susie Newcomb and nephew Steve Garrett.

Born in Republic, AL on November 3, 1931, she attended Phillips High School, married Carl in 1950 and lived in the Birmingham area her entire life. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Cory Freeman and Autumn Shealey for the many hours of loving care and attention they provided to Maggie during her final illness. Pallbearers will be Cory Freeman, Shane Garrett, Justin Freeman, Dylan Bates, Ron Nickel and Todd Bates.

The family will receive friends at The New Gardendale Funeral Home in Gardendale on October 19, 2018 at 12:00PM, service to follow at 1:00PM with burial at Bivens Chapel Cemetery in Brookside, AL.
