Obituary for Lt. Col. Bobby G. Edwards Ret.

Lt. Colonel Bobby G. Edwards (Retired), born May 28, 1929, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Bob was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church.

He enjoyed being with the Camp David volunteers working on Tuesdays. Bob was proud to serve in the Air Force for 32 years and also retired from BellSouth Telephone Company. Bob was “the lawnmower repairman” for many in the Gardendale area.

Preceding him in death include his parents, James and Edith Edwards; son, David Edwards; wife and mother of two of his children, Martha Lou Edwards; and brothers, Arthur and Charles Edwards. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Peggy Chatham Edwards; daughters, Deborah (Tim) Wojahn and Traci Edwards; grandson, Jason (Karin) Wojahn; granddaughter, Jennifer Edwards; great grandchildren, Grant and Lily; brothers, Fred (Sandy) Edwards and Frank (Joyce) Edwards; and sister, Ellen Edwards Cooper. Service will be held at The New Gardendale Funeral Home on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. with Bro.

Mark Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. EST.
