OBITUARY Boyd L. Miller July 11, 1942 – January 20, 2019 Boyd Lawrence Miller, 76, of Machesney Park, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019. Born July 11, 1942 in Freeport, IL. Son of Edna Mae (Stata) Waller and her husband Robert.

United in marriage to Inez Krause on June 30, 1962 in Faith Lutheran Church in South Beloit, WI. Member of Faith Lutheran Church. Employed by Chrysler Corporation for Material Handling of North America.

He traveled to help with the startup and set up along with trouble shooting for various Chrysler production factories. Worked in Detroit, Michigan at Warren Truck and then Chrysler Headquarters for the last 23 years of his career until his retirement in 1999. After his retirement he started a new career along with his family owning and operating a Quiznos Sub Sandwich shop in Rockford from 2001 until his retirement in 2005.

In his retirement he earned a degree in Master Gardening. His enjoyment in gardening vegetables he took him to local nursing homes where he’d help with their gardens. He played on the Dartball league in church even earning him the title of “The General”.

He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. Together with Inez he enjoyed travels to Mexico, Cancun, Branson, Florida and Arizona and the Bus trips to Diamond Joe’s for gambling. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Inez; son, Barry (Shelby) Miller; granddaughter, Alyson (Jarrett) Larkin; great-grandson, Gavin Larkin; sister; Marilyn Miller; aunt, Shirley Lange.

Predeceased by his mother and step-father. Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 25 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1305 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit. Visitation at 10 a.m. until time of service.
