Brad Drain, 56, of Mediapolis, died at 1:33 AM, February 12, 2019 at the Wapello Specialty Care Center in Wapello. Born February 9, 1963, in Iowa City,he was the son of Larry Richard and Karen Sue Trumbo Drain. He worked for the United States Gypsum plant for 25 years.

He was of Christian faith. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved baseball facts. He enjoyed all types of music and had a great memory for songs and the history of bands.

Brad loved hanging out with his friends and family and watching his great nieces and nephews at their sporting events. Survivors include his father, Larry Richard Drain of Mediapolis; sister, Debra “Debbie” Gerst of Burlington; nephew, Tyler (Michaela) Clover; and nieces, Rylee (Josh) Johnson and Audrey (Jaycob) Gerst; five great-nephews and one great-niece; best-friend, Scott Krieger and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, brother-in-law, Doug Gerst, grandparents, several uncles and one aunt.

Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM with the family to receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Brad will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Shane A. McCampbell officiating. Cremation will be entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory following the service.

Burial will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established in his name.
