Obituary of Bradley Raak Bradley Truman Raak, 55, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. An area resident for most of his life, he was born July 18, 1963 in Dixon, IL, son of the Rev. Truman B. and Marcella F. Gearhart Raak.

Brad was a 1982 graduate of Clymer Central School and was a member of the IBEW Union Local 459 and the Jamestown Eagles Club. Brad loved working as a customer field representative for the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities, where he has worked for the past 14 years. In previous years, he had worked for the Jamestown Metal Products, Westfield Nursery and Garden Shop and was the club manager for the Jamestown Jammers.

He also enjoyed working security for the annual Lucy Fest and many events at the Reg Lenna Civic Center. He will be remembered as a fun loving guy who always liked to have a good time with his friends and family. He always greeted you with a smile, a big hug, and a good joke.

He was widely known for his love of the University of Michigan, “Go Blue”. He was most proud of his son Lucas who was a graduate of the University of Michigan. He loved playing baseball and softball and was a coach for the T-Ball league and was an avid Detroit Tiger fan.

Surviving are his parents, Rev. Truman and Marcella Raak of Lakeview, MI, his son; Lucas Raak of Oak Park, MI, 8 siblings; Melissa (Ernest Nardone) Raak of Lyndhurst, NJ, Christine (Richard) Schurkamp of Grand Haven, MI, Stephanie (Stephen) Holt of Westfield, NY, Heather (Dwight) Ten Huisen of Grand Rapids, MI, Hope (Dick ) Stritzinger of Clymer, NY, Matthew Raak of Bayfield, WI, Joshua Raak of Lakeview, MI, Kathryn Raak of Burton, MI; his companion and best friend, Theresa Garvey, and her sons, Andrew (Kelsey), Matthew and Nicholas Tobias; Lucas’ mother & family Jody, Chip, Jacob and Alexandra Perkins; as well as many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 4 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.

The Rev. Rick Miller, pastor of Zion Covenant Church will officiate. Friends will be received from 1-4 pm Sunday, and for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to the National Comedy Center, 203 West Second St, Jamestown, NY 14701 or you may consider either financial or blood donations to the American Red Cross, 325 East Fourth St. Jamestown, NY 14701.
